On Saturday, May 2nd, DW1 hosted its first-ever company Volunteer Day—and the impact was immediate. Nearly one-third of our team came together in Atlanta to support a citywide cleanup effort in preparation for one of the world’s largest global events: the FIFA World Cup.
In partnership with the City of Atlanta, our team spent the morning clearing debris, removing waste, and helping improve key corridors across the city. While the work itself was simple, the purpose behind it was much larger.
Atlanta is set to play a major role in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the city expected to host multiple matches and welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the globe. In fact, host cities across North America are preparing for millions of total attendees, with Atlanta alone anticipating a significant influx of international fans, media, and tourism.
With that level of global attention comes a higher standard. FIFA is known for its meticulous expectations when it comes to host cities. Cleanliness, infrastructure, safety, and overall presentation all play a critical role in delivering a world-class experience. Every detail matters, from major venues down to the streets and neighborhoods visitors experience along the way.
That’s where efforts like this come into play.
At DW1, waste removal, jobsite services, and sustainability aren’t just offerings, they’re at the core of what we do every day. From roll-off dumpster rentals and waste hauling to LEED-focused sustainability solutions, our goal is to keep jobsites and communities—clean, efficient, and operating at their best.
This volunteer day gave us the opportunity to bring that mission outside of our day-to-day operations and apply it directly to the city we serve. It was a natural extension of our work: boots on the ground, working together to make a visible impact.
While the goal was to support Atlanta’s readiness for the World Cup, the day also served as something equally important—bringing our team together.
With employees across departments stepping away from their desks and into the field, the event created an opportunity to connect in a different way. It wasn’t about projects, timelines, or deliverables, it was about teamwork, shared purpose, and contributing to something bigger than ourselves.
There’s a different level of appreciation that comes from working side by side toward a common goal, especially when that goal benefits the broader community.
As a company, we believe that being a trusted partner goes beyond the services we provide. It means showing up, taking responsibility, and contributing to the communities where we live and work.
Events like this reinforce that commitment.
With Atlanta preparing to welcome the world, we’re proud to play a small part in ensuring the city is clean, safe, and ready to make a lasting impression. And as the World Cup approaches, we look forward to continuing to support efforts that align with our values. Whether that’s through jobsite solutions, waste management services, or community involvement.
DW1’s first Volunteer Day set the tone for what’s to come. As we continue to grow, so will our commitment to giving back. Finding new ways to support our communities, strengthen our team, and live out the values that define who we are.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about keeping jobsites running.
It’s about making an impact that extends far beyond them.
