Evolution of the DW1 Customer Portal

As DW1’s customer base expanded, we adopted a third-party invoicing platform to support our expanding customer base with a more efficient billing and payment system. This solution enabled invoice uploads, customer logins, and self-service payment options.

The original DW1 Customer Payment Portal is launched as a stopgap solution to meet immediate customer payment needs. Though limited in functionality and design, it provided essential payment access for a broad customer base.

After several rounds of iteration, DW1 began designing a brand-new, robust Customer Portal—aimed not only at streamlining payments, but also at delivering a comprehensive view of the entire customer relationship.

To support our rapidly expanding services and incorporate valuable customer feedback, DW1 revisited and reimagined the design of the Customer Portal to address increased scale and incorporate evolving customer needs.

DW1 launched a customer survey to ensure the proposed Customer Portal design aligned with user needs. The feedback helped validate key decisions and refine priorities around usability, features, and overall customer expectations.

DW1’s internal development team breaks ground on Phase I of the new Customer Portal, translating design concepts and customer feedback into a functional, scalable platform focused on improving the billing and payment experience.

The brand-new DW1 Customer Payment Portal is released, replacing the legacy payment system. This milestone introduces a more intuitive, secure, and streamlined payment experience, including new Autopay functionality. It marks the first phase in the rollout of the full DW1 Customer Portal.

DW1’s internal design and development teams break ground on Phase II of the Customer Portal, incorporating insights from the recent customer feedback survey. This phase expands the portal beyond billing, laying the groundwork for a unified experience that brings together payments, jobsites, assets, and services—designed to meet the needs of all teams collaborating with DW1.

Building on the foundation laid in Phase I, Phase II will introduce the full DW1 Customer Portal—a powerful, integrated platform designed to serve the needs of all stakeholders working with DW1. More than just a payment solution, this next release will offer a centralized hub for managing every aspect of the customer relationship, including real-time visibility into payments, jobsites, assets, and services. By unifying critical information and workflows, Phase II aims to streamline operations, enhance transparency, and deliver a truly end-to-end customer experience.
